The Aims and Membership of the League

The League of Nations had a covenant that was made of 26 articles explaining how the League was supposed to work and what its aims were. When the League was formed in 1920 there were 42 original member countries. By 1930, membership had risen to nearly 60. Unfortunately at any one time in its history, several vital countries were not members of the League.
